Happy Birthday, April Fool!
Once again it marks another year down the rabbit hole for an April 1st birthday! This year was particularly different for me, as when the calendar strikes May, it will have been 10 years since I embarked on my adventures overseas.
I turned 33 years old today. Age is such an incredible thing. We all think that we will look a certain way forever, or even live forever. For women, the slightest wrinkle ruins their day because as you get older, maybe inside we don’t feel that pending doom of old age. I often look at some older women who are in their 70’s or 80’s and I think “are they still the same inside as they were in their 30’s?”. And if you feel young inside, does it make that person sad that they can’t go climb a mountain, ride a horse on the beach, or go out clubbing until sunrise with someone new.
When does the adventure start to look like a distant memory? I am certainly afraid of getting old, becoming a mom, getting married…but another part of me really looks forward to all of that. I think with age, you need to keep yourself free but focused. Ten years have gone by in a blink!
