Pleasantville A.K.A Swedish Neighborhoods

Location: 2 min read

I love living in a Swedish neighborhood, unless it reminds me of the movie “Let The Right One In,” which was filmed a couple miles up the road. Yikes.

Where I live is relatively new, and is what my father might call a sea of apartments. However, the Swedes are clever in that each apartment building design is a different shape, architecture and color. The streets are lined perfectly with little trees, people have an extra skip in their jump as they stroll along with their baby carriages full of newborns and toddlers. People leave their personal BBQ grills out in the parks for everyone to use, knowing they won’t get stolen. Everything is bright colors and Eco-friendly. It really it the perfect utopia if you live in the right neighborhood.
They also leave plenty of room for open space. As my neighbors breed a new child every 11 months, it’s no wonder that Sweden’s birth rate is sky high, and the playgrounds near my house are plentiful.
Log pigs in the forestvwere created in the middle of all the apartments. The Swedes think of everything!
Not only do they have playgrounds, but small gardens to teach your kids the value of nature!

The best part, is the fake grass that buildings think are of the utmost importance. Putting in fake grass and a tellow brick road, not only let’s the above pictures feel like Pleasantville, but makes me feel like I got lost in the land of Oz or a free Utopian society.
